1.       Aloofness – state of being distant or reserved
·         Her aloofness from him, though depressing, was the best way to end their relationship.

2.       Prudence – wise/ caution with practical affairs
·         The board of directors managed to solve the issue with prudence.

3.       Derailed – to cause fail
·         Broken legs he had, as a result of the tragic accident last summer derailed his dream to become a professional dancer.

4.       Dictum – an authorities pronouncement/ saying
·         He barely remembered those dictums the professor had mentioned during the Literature class.

5.       Respite – interval of relief
·         “Fortunately, you’re here to help me,” he said with respite.
